READY GOLF IS A MUST. 18 holes of golf must be played in less than 4 hours. If you reach your ball before another member reaches their ball, HIT AWAY (don’t wait to hit your ball just because another player’s ball is behind yours). Help speed up play by keeping up with the group ahead of you. |

Fees. Tournament fees are based on individual golf course charges for golf and dinner. Electric carts are usually optional. Guests pay the same fee as members. Dues for new and returning members are $150 currently. |

Flights. A foursome shall be considered a flight. In each flight there shall be a winner and a runner-up. Prior to teeing off each player receives 10 chits. Marked scorecards are usually provided using the handicap system below (5b). After each hole is played, chits are exchanged on the basis of net score. (Each player receives a chit from every player with a higher net score). After 18 holes the player with the most chits is the flight winner; second highest number is runner-up. Cards are returned to the scorer with gross scores, total net scores and the number of chits for all players. Ties are broken by a “card off”, using the #1 handicap hole for best score with handicap to break the tie and then #2 through #18 until the tie is broken. |

Class Winners. Players in AGA are divided into three groups of roughly equal number according to handicaps. The best net score in each group is the Class Winner. In the event of a tie, the lowest score on the #1 handicap hole (etc.) will determine the winner. A class winner automatically qualifies the runner-up as a flight winner and the third chit winner as runner-up. |

Handicapping. |
|
| a. Beginning with the 1993 season, AGA of Oregon became a member of the Oregon Golf Association (OGA). The purpose was to establish actual United States Golf Association (USGA) handicaps for all of our members. Each season players start with their published USGA handicap. From then on, the main purpose of the AGA handicapping system is to accomplish the distribution of prizes among all the members. However, USGA gross and net scores are , adjusted according to USGA rules and reported to the USGA. NAGA Team selection, the Past Presidents Tournament and the seasonal trophies are all determined by USGA gross and net scores for each player. All competitions are governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. |
| b. Maximum handicap shall be 36. Net scores are based on application of each player’s handicap, with all the handicap strokes for each of the players falling as they lie on the scorecard. For instance, if the low handicapper is a 5, the player is allowed a stroke on each of the first 5 handicap holes. A player with an 18 handicap is allowed a stroke on each of the 18 holes. A player with a 36 handicap is allowed 2 strokes on each of the 18 holes. Before play, the scorecard should be marked showing the number of strokes each player receives on each hole. |
| c. Handicap cuts Class winners lose 50% and flight winners lose 25% of their AGA handicap for the next tournament played. Each class and flight winner may recover 10% of their handicap on succeeding tournaments in which they are a non-winner or runner-up. All other non-winners in each flight will receive a 10% increase in handicap. The runner-up in each flight remains at the same handicap level. The handicap committee has full discretion to adjust handicaps in the spirit of AGA. |

Tournaments. All tournaments are played by the conditions established for the day and designated by the course management. Summer rules (do not touch the ball except on the green) or winter rules (mark, lift, clean and replace ball within 6 inches - no nearer the hole anywhere on the course except in hazards). All putts must be holed out. Golf etiquette must be observed at all times and includes no foul language on the course or in the clubhouse. Proper attire is defined as country club casual (no blue jeans, a collared shirt, etc.). BECAUSE OF THE COMPETITIVE NATURE OF TOURNAMENT PLAY, EACH PLAYER SHOULD ADHERE ABSOLUTELY TO THE USGA RULES OF GOLF. |
